Who are we?
Who are we? We are the average American couple. We own a home and a couple of cars. We have two dogs – Aries and Athena. We are proud parents of a 4-year-old son. We both work full-time during the week, and one goes to school full time. Our plate always seems full, however we always seem to find a way to make sure we spend time with the people we love most.
Brian is a 29-year-old father, husband and full-time college student. He works 40+ hours a week and has always struggled with his weight.
Our story isn’t unique. There are many of “us” out there. If you’re like us you hated the word diet because it meant losing weight for a certain period of time only to put it back on again when the diet was finished. We seem to be pros at being fit and fat within the same year.
Sarah is a 27-year-old mother and wife. She works full time as an executive assistant, and has always struggled with her weight. She has tried every diet out there, but nothing seemed to work long term.
They say that eating right accounts for 80% of your success, and from our experience, this is true.
Bentley is a our 4-year-old son. He is our pride and joy, and he knows it! He has been known to take advantage of it from time to time.
During our times of being unhealthy, our average days would be to come home from work, and either: a) just hang out around the house (which really means sit on the couch in front of the TV), or b) pretty much do (a). If we actually did make it to the gym, we would come home, after our workout was finished, and go get ice-cream or donuts, or eat fast food.
Aries is an adopted 6-year-old Great Dane/Boxer mix. He is an awesome watchdog and very loyal, until the front door is left open. Then he forgets who feeds, houses, loves, and cares for him – the little things.
Now, We do know how to do it healthy we just don’t always enjoy it doing it. Cooking every day is hard. Finding the will power to not eat your feelings is hard. Have you ever head the saying “Everything in life worth having doesn’t come easy”. Its true! Eating healthy is hard, being dedicated is hard. However being fat is way more difficult to deal with. Our biggest problem is BALANCE! Having balance is the ultimate key to success and we are on a journey to find that balance.
Athena is the newest addition to our family. She is part gremlin and constantly keeps us on our toes. She is still a puppy and still does puppy things, mostly to paper towels or Sarah’s make up brushes.
So here we are, we’re not perfect, we are just trying to find our way to be healthy while managing our day to day lives. Please follow us on our journey, and feel free to ask us questions along the way. Better yet, scroll back up to the top and subscribe (all we need is an email, and no, we’re not going to sell it to anyone), its on the right hand side of the page.
